VICTORVILLE • A new Walgreens, In-N-Out and Chase bank are among the businesses ready to move in next to the planned Walmart Supercenter at Palmdale Road and Highway 395, city officials said Wednesday.
Panda Express, Chevron and AutoZone are also in final approval stages ready to be signed on, according to city spokeswoman Monica Petersen.
It’s the latest indication Victorville may be starting to turn a corner after nearly four years of plummeting tax revenues.
The city also made national news this week for plans to open a manufacturing and distribution hub for the maker of Simmons home furnishings at Southern California Logistics Airport.
The six new businesses along Palmdale Road are advancing even though the city can’t say yet when its second Walmart Supercenter will break ground.
Victorville and Hesperia both started construction on their first Walmart Supercenters in July. Stores along south Bear Valley Road just west of Interstate 15 and along Main Street at Escondido Avenue are expected to open by mid-2012.
